Our Campus

entrance to Transfiguration

The Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration is a unique church campus. There are three buildings: the Sanctuary, the Parish House, and the Fellowship Hall that sit on a large piece of property in the ever-expanding Mesa/Apache Junction/Gilbert/San Tan region. Our campus is lush with desert landscaping and sweeping views of the Superstitions. Mature saguaro cacti house myriad desert birds and cottontail rabbits take shelter under fragrant creosote bushes. A mesquite tree shades a hand-built stone labyrinth. Expansive gardens that grow indigenous chilis, corn, and melons fill out the property.

The buildings on our campus are equally impressive because of their size, versatility, and design. The sacred icons and stained glass in the Sanctuary are handmade by parishioners. And we begin our Sunday service by ringing a Cosanti bell, a truly unique piece of Arizona art. Our kitchen in the Fellowship Hall is a professional-grade kitchen suited not only for generous hospitality but for the Lord’s Soup Kitchen ministry, too. The Parish House is a ranch-style house with a chapel, kitchen, and dining area. It’s where our parish offices and music room are located. A favorite part of the Parish House is the great front room, with a picture window overlooking the desert wash and saguaro cacti. It’s a lovely spot to sit and rest.

We are able to care for these sacred grounds because of the generosity of our parishioners.
