Morning Prayer and Compline
Every Wednesday morning at 9:30 a.m., members of the Church of the Transfiguration gather for Morning Prayer via Zoom. And every Monday through Friday evening at 7:00 p.m., members gather for Compline.
When Christians pray the Daily Office, they pray together as the Body of Christ. Imagine: in all places, at all times, someone somewhere is praying the ancient prayers of the church. It is a primary way we, the church, “pray without ceasing,” as Paul commends us to do in 1 Thessalonians, 5:17.
Morning Prayer and Compline are found in the Book of Common Prayer. If praying the Office is new to you, we invite you to “come and see.” It can be a bit daunting at first, we know. But you will be given all the tools you need to participate fully. And you will find yourself embedded in a community of prayer that spans centuries, geography, and time zones.
If you would like to begin praying Morning Prayer and Compline with us, please e-mail Barbara Press. She will add you to the Zoom invite and make sure you have what you need to begin.
